Operation Safe Stop |
It is estimated that over 50,000 private vehicles pass stopped school buses with red lights flashing on a typical school day. With schools currently moving from in-person to virtual learning and back again, school buses are on the road some days and not on other days, which could lead to confusion for other drivers. Stay alert - when you see a stopped school bus with red lights flashing, STOP FOR THE BUS! We encourage all our members to use the form to track these ‘high passing zones’ and to share them with your police departments in advance of April 22nd, which is Safe Stop Day. Our police partners are ready and willing to help and to participate in Safe Stop Day - all we need to do is ask them! |
