NYAPT Leadership Development and Certification Institute
NYAPT presents the NYAPT Leadership Development and Certification Institute. The purpose of this program is to provide school transportation professionals with a process to develop skills and competencies they need to ensure that all the elements necessary for a safe bus ride come together for every student who rides a school bus.

The application fee to enter the program is $175.00 for a three-year term. Applicants can apply by completing the application and sending it to NYAPT at the address below with the $175.00 application fee included.

NYAPT LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND CERTIFICATION PROGRAM UPDATE 5/25/2021
Due to the cancellation of the 2020 NYAPT Summer Conference, we restructured the delivery of the Leadership Development and Certification Institute programming. We are excited to announce that this popular program will continue with the generous sponsorship of Leonard Bus Sales, Inc. in virtual format. These professional development virtual format opportunities began after the NYAPT annual meeting on July 13, 2020. In person programming will be available when health department regulations permit.
NYAPT will offer the following programming opportunities:
“Managing Your Operation with Key Performance Indicators” - presenter TBD - $99

“NYAPT Law Course - Updated” presenter TBD - $145.00 members/$195.00 non-members
These programs are offered at no cost to Leadership program participants due to the support of the Leonard Bus Sales, Inc. sponsorship. This generous sponsorship covers educational programming costs for the aforementioned courses. For new applicants to the Leadership program, individual registration is at full cost to the registrant at $175.00 per applicant.
All NYAPT members are welcome to participate in the Leadership program webinars, however at the posted fee. Members are encouraged to join the Leadership program. More information will be shared at the NYAPT Annual Meeting on these educational opportunities.
Leadership program participants who are ready to take the certification test are asked to consider the following: NYAPT will arrange to deliver the test at your location on an individual basis. Please contact the NYAPT office at dave@nyapt.org to schedule a test. Testing dates can be set up after the NYAPT annual meeting. Note the information below that you should consider before taking the certification test. This information can be found above.
1. Attain the necessary knowledge of NYS Department of Education, NYS Department of Motor Vehicle, NYS Department of Transportation, and USDOT Laws and Regulations as they pertain to pupil transportation.
