Bullying Law Suit Filed
School officials across the state should not be surprised to find a greater incidence of lawsuits filed by families on behalf of children who are bullied on school properties.
See link to a Rochester-area story about one such lawsuit. Keep in mind that there is no reference in this story that the bullying occured on a school bus, but, more importantly, keep in mind that we could easily substitute the name of ANY school district into this story.
School transportation managers and team members need to remember that there is not only an obligation to our children to make their bus ride safe at all levels. Clearly, there is also an obligation to the taxpayers to take all precautions necessary to prevent such instances and ensuring against the need for such litigation. The school bus is an integral part of the school day and school activitites and our job is to make it a positive part of that day and those activities.
