All NYAPT members are dedicated to the safety of our school children and to advancing their education and knowledge to ensure the safety, efficiency and quality of the school bus experience.
The Cyr Foundation and NYAPT offer a range of educational and professional development activities for our members. We strive to ensure that these programs remain current and timely to address the emerging and rapidly changing demands of the industry.
The centerpiece of our professional development activities is the Annual Conference and Trade Show that is held in mid-July each year. We will begin posting information about the conference in early December with registration and trade show information appearing in mid-December….
This year’s Annual Conference will be held in our State’s Capital City of Albany. Our host hotel will be the newly renovated ALBANY HILTON with the Trade Show events being held in the City’s centerpiece TIMES UNION CENTER. We are very excited about this move to Albany and believe it will provide a great venue for our conference and for our attendees, exhibitors and guests!
The Annual Conference brings over 350 school transportation professionals from all corners of the state together for learning and networking. Each conference is anchored by top-notch featured and keynote speakers and strengthened by more than 3 dozen educational workshops and sessions.
The Conference includes one of America’s largest Trade and Exhibit Shows. Each year, over 70 of the industry’s most influential manufacturers, service providers, and product representatives participate in a one-day glimpse at our industry and our future.

The responsibilities placed on a Director of School Transportation have expanded and increased exponentially in recent years and it is necessary to ensure the professional capacity of the men and women who are engaged in providing safe and efficient transportation of our school children.
School transportation professionals must be better equipped to take their place among other school leaders and enhanced training and education is the key to attaining the necessary level of excellence.
The NYAPT Professional Certification program is designed as an industry-based program that will draw not only on educational attainment, but also the kinds of experiences and resources that are unique to the field of school transportation.

The mission of “STAMP” is to promote excellence within the pupil transportation industry by providing guidance and support to newer transportation professionals in the early stages of their careers.
As individuals assume the responsibilities of a transportation supervisor or administrator, each is faced with a need for assistance and guidance as they encounter the broad range of issues encompassed by school transportation management.
Each individual comes to the position with his/her own unique set of skills and experiences. Rarely does an individual come to the job fully prepared and ready for the numerous and varied responsibilities that define the job of a School Transportation Administrator or Supervisor.
NYAPT believes that all transportation professionals can greatly benefit from outstanding and committed individuals who serve as their mentors/coaches. Our Mentor program grew out of this belief in helping one another and assisting all school transportation professionals in doing their very best for our children.
The STAMP program provides training for Mentors and strives to make a successful ‘match’ between the Mentor and the protégé.
