TRAINING DAY!

The NYAPT Board of Directors and the Cyr Foundation present new education and professional development services for middle managers in school transportation departments. We believe that it is vital to student safety for everyone involved in the school transportation enterprise to be well-trained and to have development opportunities during the year.

Choose one! - All programs run from 8:00am - 4:00pm
Programs include a two hour visit to the NYAPT Trade Show



DISPATCHERS:  PTSI Program

The PTSI Dispatcher Training program is being offered at this summer’s Annual Conference. The course is nationally recognized as one of the most comprehensive and useful training for dispatchers and routing personnel.  This highly interactive course, conducted by effective and dynamic presenters teaches participants how to:

  •     Communicate professionally and effectively using the two-way radio, telephone, in writing and in person
  •     Use specific techniques to improve customer service and build positive customer relationships
  •     Contribute to and even directly influence positive employee morale
  •     Document citizen and parent complaints
  •     Effectively manage their time and as a result, reduce their personal and professional stress level
  •     And much more...



TRAINERS: “IMPACTFUL TRAININGS”

Presenting is Michael Grinder, Grinder Associates, who is nationally recognized for his work in presentation skill development, audience management, and non-verbal techniques, among other areas.  Being in front of people is both a scary activity as well as a great opportunity to pay it forward.  The average trainer informs - The good trainer persuades - The great trainer inspires  Knowing and practicing the set of skills to progress from being a persuading to an inspiring trainer is what this day-long program is about.

  •     Since participants respond to us within 40 seconds, you will know how others view you…so you can adjust accordingly
  •     Know the difference between visual vs. oral messages and when to use which
  •     How to have others view you as intelligent – so the participants feel safe to learn
  •     Bring your smart phones - You will experience accelerated learning by watching yourself on footage and learning.
  •     The mechanics of getting and holding your participants’ attention
  •     How to deliver volatile news while maintaining relationships with the audience.
  •     How to handle questions and attacks from the audience gracefully.

MECHANICS: “Mechanics & Management”

eFull day-long program for mechanics and head mechanics aimed at increasing their professional skills and development.  The program will include a two hour visit to the NYAPT Trade Show that will be on-going during that same day.

Workshops for the day include use of technology in the workplace, parts inventory management, time management, inspection techniques and practices, and more.

Mechanics and technicians are a linchpin for the safety of our students and NYAPT is focused on providing increased educational offerings for those professionals and all involved with the safety of our children.

$89.00* - (ALREADY ATTENDING THE CONFERENCE??? - Individuals who are already registered to attend the FULL Annual Conference will be able to enroll for this course for an additional $89.00.)

We are requiring a minimum of 20 attendees to conduct the course. If we do not have 20 attendees by June 24th, we reserve the right to cancel the course.

2016 Conference - TRAINING DAY PROGRAMS
Cancellations must be received in writing prior to JULY 8, 2016 (no phone cancellations will be accepted). Refunds can be made ONLY on cancellations received before 7/8/16.  NO refunds will be made after that date.  $35 processing fee for refunds.
